Google Picasa
Picasa was first a single company, but in the end of 2005 google inc. bought the companie and gave the photo editing software away for FREE!!!
Now here are some of the good parts of Google picasa:
- When you first start Google picasa the program scans your pc for photos and other images. Then the software places them in a map structure on the left of your screen. In the middle part you can browse the images. You even find pictures that you had forgotten that you have them!
- You can move and rename all the images in the program very fast, you can also clean up those messy folders and rename the 1341342354399.jpg into pete.jpg
- You can also make a label for your images so you can organize the images from different maps into one label. This is very handy for slideshows for friends.
- You can also give pictures a star rating. So you can sort the best pictures out and easily find them with the star search option.
- You can place one picture into more albums at the same time without using more discspace on your harddisc.
- You can also protect your albums with a password if you don't want other users see your pictures.
- When you dubble click on an image you can edit them. There are a lot of basic fixes available for your photo, which are fully automatic. You can easily turn a grey sky into a nice looking blue sky with no hard efforts, you can also easily remove red eyes, fix the contrast and color and a lot more.
- Picasa also has 12 visual effects to improve your photos. In seconds you can warmify or sepia your pictures, you can make them black-white and pop another color on them.
